Allison Lindsey has been in the travel insurance industry for almost 10 years. She has always been a believer in the benefits of travel insurance, but even more so after her experience in Croatia in 2023. She was in Croatia for a conference for work and stepped off a ledge while waiting for a water taxi. She fell 4 feet onto a concrete platform and ended up with a broken hip. She was very glad to have listened to her own advice and purchased travel insurance before her trip! After a week-long stay in a hospital in Dubrovnik, she was escorted home by a nurse who was flown from the US to Croatia to accompany her home. All of that care was covered by the travel insurance policy she purchased before her trip. On Call International is the travel emergency company that facilitated all of the details, communicated with the hospital about insurance coverage and booked her flights home. They even had a car waiting for her when she landed in Atlanta. The coverage didn’t end until she was safe at home.
Why Cloud9? Allison’s maiden name is Cloud. Growing up, her brother, David, played baseball and always wore the number 9 so that his jersey read “Cloud 9” when his name and number were displayed. David grew up to have a very successful career in insurance. Sadly, he passed away in 2023. Cloud9 Travel Protection was named as a nod to his legacy.
